A new slogan for a trendy town

'Greytown- where your brain goes for a holiday'

This was prompted by three displays of appalling 'driving' while passing through the town today.
The latest in a string of such events that I have personally witnessed this summer. No doubt there are many more to come.

But it's not locals- its the out of town types- many of whom have holiday homes here. Try driving like they do here back in Wellington and a bus will put you in a world of hurt!

Pulling out into traffic- usually without indicators.
A general lack of indicators.
An inability to parallel park.
Stopping in the middle of the road to talk to someone you have spotted on the footpath.
An inability to tell where the open road starts- and ends.
A TOTAL inability to drive on unsealed reads (yet they try!)

And as for clueless pedestrians that think the normal rules of road-crossing are suspended because THEY are on holiday...
